True Woman Videos: Cross-cultural Women

I have great news again today (click here for yesterday's exciting news) . . .

You ready?

Janet Parshall will be coming to Indianapolis this September to speak at Revive Our Hearts' True Woman '10 Conference!

This woman is amazingly brilliant. And yet practical, and Spirit-filled. Her True Woman '08 talk, "A Woman After God's Own Heart" broke me and gave me hope all at the same time. (Click here for Janet's bio, as well as to learn more about her new program on Moody Radio beginning Monday, May 3, titled "In the Market with Janet Parshall.")

Whether you've heard Janet speak before or not, here's a great just-released video of Janet on how true women of God are so different from the world! Learn why as she discusses the three hallmarks of these women that are so antithetical to the culture. Then, let me know: Are these three hallmarks true of your life? If not, ask Him to continue to deepen His good work in you!

  1. Wow...I'm not there totally yet...but I'm getting there. There are still days that I really want to "rule the roost" but I'm learning to "let it go".

Yea for Jesus...He has it all under control.

  2. Love it! Love her! So true and it feels so good to hear someone with a voice encourage those who are trying to be the bride of Christ. Women today are so "in charge" and they despise those who "let go."

Thanks so much for the encouragement.

  3. That is great news! I loved her message about Hannah in 2008...she really brought that passage to life!

  4. Denying self, Trusting God and Letting go...three beautiful hallmarks. I am blessed to be a growing true woman and I do not want to be anything less. Thank god for your ministry.

  5. We are so blessed to have Janet Parshall as a sister and true woman! I downloaded her message about Hannah after the '08 conference. She has such a strong voice, yet a submissive spirit. And her radio programs are incredible.

It is indeed a bit odd and freeing to be a true woman in today's world. It is an oddity I embrace and hope will be a blessing for my family.

    Every blessing in Christ,

  6. Hi Paula, I just finished reading the True Woman- Counter Cultural and I'm left with one question in mind - but a big one - what EXACTLY does a man want from a woman in marriage?

Surely not just a homemaker? (in the sense of decorating?) or a cook? Or a ??????

What does God want us to be? To do?

    Any thoughts on this?

  7. Janet is wonderful and she is in my prayers daily. My hope is that when the ladies hear her this year that it will drive them to worship HIM more and remember to not idolize the women who will be teaching them.

  8. My life has not turned out like I planned. My husband and I thought that we would have two children--and then my second pregnancy was twins! So we had three children--and then one developed leukemia and is now with the Lord. One doctor told me that I should not have any more children because of the serious complications I had after the twins--but God blessed us with another child. I have wrestled with God through these events. It has been painful, but I have learned so much about the love of God, the presence of Jesus. I have been upheld by other believers. I was forced to relinquish control of my plans.
How beautiful it would be to continually relinquish control to our Heavenly Father.

  9. "Anything that makes me need God is a blessing. It has a purpose; it’s not in vain." as quoted from "Turning The Spotlight towards God" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss on her April 6 radio program.. Struggles of any kind can be a blessing if I can embrace the truth that it makes me realize how much I need God. That how I strive to view the blessing of my being confined to a wheelchair.

  10. Hey, Judy,

Is it okay if my thoughts aren't original? I'd recommend two excellent radio series for answers to your questions:

"Love and Respect" where Nancy interviews Dr. Emmerson Eggerichs, which will give you a man's perspective: http://www.reviveourhearts.com/radio/roh/today.php?pid=9289

"For Women Only": Nancy interviews Shaunti Feldhahn: http://www.reviveourhearts.com/radio/roh/today.php?pid=9854

I love having you here on the blog regularly, Judy. I just prayed for you--that Jesus will delight and satisfy your heart utterly and completely!

    Love,

  11. Hi Paula,

Thank you for sharing this video clip! At first I thought it was one I had seen before, but remembered you said "just released" and went back and watched it (better late than never!). What a blessing! Yes, like the other sisters above, I would say that these beautiful three hallmarks (denying self, trusting God, letting go and yielding to His plans -- in my words --) are goals in my life, yet to be attained more perfectly. It is my heart, by His grace, to live this way; yes. I enjoyed seeing and hearing Janet again (enjoyed her greatly at TW08 live streamed). She has so much energy, zeal and strength for the Lord; it is refreshing and inspiring.

Thank you again for all you do, Paula, you are a dear one and I'm sure greatly appreciated by ROH and many!

May our Lord abundantly bless your day and days to come! Ps. 35:27

  12. Hi there Paula - I shall try and read the "radio" programmes from work where we have all mod cons. (I cannot see the videos and hear the radio progs at home so maybe my questions were already answered on the video).

Thank you for your prayers! I feel truly wonderful these days and am keeping a prayer journal. Can't remember if I read that in the Voices of the True Woman Movement. I ADORED this book. Read it in two swoops! A prayer journal - what a truly wonderful idea. (And amazing - it keeps us focused!!)

If anyone of my sisters in the Lord are reading this (apart from you of course :o) the book i"Voices of the True Woman Movement (and my prayer journal naturally :o) is GREAT!!

Just for the record. You may remember that I went to my ex father in law's funeral. Since then, I have been truly blessed with joy and happiness. Must have been a gift from above!!! (You know, the passage in James "Chapter 1, vs. 17 "every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights".)

I used this passage to a friend the other day who just stared at me. She had said, how do you know if a gift is true and sincere?

So I quoted that verse from James.

I send you and my sisters in the Lord (hi Kimberley, Erin, Leslie and Jenny!!!) all love and blessings!

  13. Hi Judy,

Thanks for all your hugs (: and love and blessings. You are a cheerful sister in Christ and I too am glad to see you on the blogs. I am glad you are feeling wonderful these days. May the Lord continue to bless your days with His sunshine, regardless of the weather (or life's circumstances) without. How is your brother doing, if you don't mind my asking?

Jenny is getting water baptized Sunday and is taking a break from internet, I think, to prepare and seek the Lord, in case you miss seeing her on here these days (I know you two are dear friends!). I think she'll be back next week. And you probably know Nancy Leigh DeMoss is having a recording session tomorrow (Friday 4/30), and appreciates our prayers for that whole thing.

Loving greetings to you, Judy!! Psalm 145

  14. Hi Leslie, gonna read that Psalm! Of course I don't mind you asking - My brother is in great pain, tries to hide it from me (but I'm his young sister and I feel these things) and should have radiotherapy - but I reckon that the doctors are trying not to do it but giving him an appointment so that he thinks there is still hope. I'm secretly praying that they do in fact leave him be and just give him painkillers, so that he doesn't feel worse.

But he's cheerful and knows that I love him.

    Gonna pray for Nancy too!

It's great to read you on here and to have this super internet connection with you and with fellow Christian women.

I write in my prayer journal for us all on here, that we share our love and grow together!

Isn't it just great that we can chat on here about God?

It makes such a difference to my life - the other day I was reading that hope is in an empty tomb and in a manger. Fabulous thought, isn't it?

If you see Jenny, send her my love for her "big day" (:o)(:o).

    Hugs from here!!!

  15. Judy, I am sorry about your brother, and his trial -- thank you for sharing... I am glad the Lord is sustaining you both and will keep him in prayer as the Lord brings him to mind (and you!).

Yes, it is just great to chat on here about God.. Amen!

Jenny will be up in Canada being baptized (her home country) -- I won't "see" her in person (and I think she is doing some type of media fast until then). But I know she will be glad to hear from you when she gets back on the blog!

    Love through Jesus,

I'm praying for Jenny, for Nancy and all of us on here that we make a major impact in the world.

    Let's go for it!!!

  18. Greetings Ladies!

So good to catch up with some of you. Thank you for praying for the recording sessions. I wish all of you could have been there with us, we had a great day. You'll be able to hear those programs in June.

Judy, I'm so glad you're doing a prayer journal. I thought I would pass on to you an article on prayer that I posted last year that you might find helpful:
