Guess who has a birthday tomorrow? That’s right . . . Nancy Leigh DeMoss! (Her birthday just so happens to fall on the tenth anniversary of Revive Our Hearts, as well.) Here are a few “birthday blessings” from some members of the ROH team. Feel free to leave her your own birthday encouragement below—her “love language” is words of encouragement!

Nancy, Happy Birthday! I am grateful for how you show us in your teaching, and even more importantly in the reality of your life, what biblical living looks like. You often mention that listening to ROH is like a slow IV drip of biblical truth. I know that is true in my life. Even though I’m “working” on your content on our websites, the truths you share have greatly molded my thinking, my heart, and my life. Often when I share with other women, I hear you speaking out of my mouth to them. Thank you for helping me to become a mentor. It is a great privilege to partner with you in the ministry of Revive Our Hearts.
Love you,

Happy Birthday, Nancy! When I began work for Revive Our Hearts I remember sitting at my desk thinking—with DEEP gratitude—“God, how can You be so good to me to allow me to work for such a wonderful ministry?!” When I sit before the computer these many days since, it is often with the same thoughts and even deeper gratitude. You have taught me so much over these years, Nancy!

The first thing you taught me was a deeper awareness of brokenness and what it means. I so needed that in my life (needed, not wanted!). Some of the most impactful things you have taught me: what offering and receiving forgiveness looks like; godly sorrow that leads to repentance; Seeking Him; angels rejoice over the repentant; sending my “wedding garment” to the dry cleaners; Jesus as the servant; good Christians go through the desert; the value of being a godly wife (that has led to a growing marriage), mother, and grandmother; do not look to the right or left; rightly dividing the Word of God consistently; the challenge to read the Bible through in ninety days . . . I must stop—my word count is over. I can’t tell you how much my family, friends and church family love and appreciate you—but none more than me!

Happy Birthday Nancy! Hoping that your day is full of sweet reminders of the faithfulness of the Lord demonstrated through your life, not just in ten years of ministry in ROH, but through all the years of service and dedication you've invested in the Kingdom. Thank you for being such an encouragement, for being real, and for sharing your journey with us. I look forward with you to all the Lord has in store for the year ahead!

Dearest Nancy, I’ll never forget the day my friend introduced me to the ministry of a woman named Nancy Leigh DeMoss. She had just returned from a conference where God had wielded a mighty scalpel in her heart through your messages. Our conversation that day focused little on the messenger of the weekend, but much on the God you had so boldly proclaimed. Little did I know that day that I would one day have the privilege of observing firsthand how every aspect of your life and ministry is characterized by that desire--“He must increase, I must decrease.”

Oh, how that has been true, dear friend, as the Lord is so beautifully magnified through your life in these days! Your love for truth and for the God of the Word is being used mightily to transform lives across the globe . . . and here in this office! Thank you, Nancy, for the tender ways you have invested in our lives and family! May this be a year of abundant blessing! Happy Birthday, dear friend!!

Happy Birthday Nancy! The first memory I have of you is when you spoke at the Campus Crusade for Christ staff conference and how God used your Brokenness message throughout the CCC staff those days. Another memory is when the conferences were much smaller, and you had opportunity to open the mic for people to respond in brokenness to what God was teaching them, and you would send one of the staff out to pick up an applicable resource to give to them. And, I’ve always admired how you always take time to stand and talk to ladies as long as the line may be after each Revive Our Hearts Conference—an example of your genuineness and heart to love and serve women. Thank You. The Lord used those conference messages to change my life and draw me to join the staff.

Dear Nancy, I would like to wish you a very blessed happy birthday. It is a pleasure and a blessing to be a part of ROH. Your desire and humbleness to please our Lord is beyond measure.
In all you do, you truly desire it to be perfect for a perfect Savior. Your care and compassion for others is truly visible. You speak truth, not from yourself but from our Lord’s words. Thank you, Nancy, for calling women to freedom, fullness, and fruitfulness in Christ.

Nancy, It has been an honor and a blessing to know you and your mother and father before you since 1977. Your example of godly womanhood is laying a foundation for millions of people. It is our privilege to have known and served with you over these years. Our birthday wish for you this year is stated so well in Eph. 3:14-19. Happy Birthday!

Nancy, Thank you for obeying God's call to this ministry. Your voice, rooted in the Word of God, is mighty against the enemy. Thank you for not being afraid to express His Truth about brokenness, repentance, obedience, and living a Spirit-saturated life. Thank you for seeking to live what you preach, everyday. I can't wait to see what God will do with the next ten years! Happy Birthday!

Nancy, I so appreciate your transparency and vulnerability with us! You walk your talk! You have set a wonderful standard for me to follow in my friendships with others. You have challenged me to not be afraid of what others think, but to walk in honesty and humility before the Lord. God has worked through you to convict me, humble me, grow me, and help me in the process of overcoming my fear of man. You have helped me to love my Lord and His Word more than I ever thought I could. Daily I see that God’s divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through our knowledge of Him (2 Pet. 1:3). That knowledge is only gained through His Word. Thank you, Nancy, for being available for God to use in such a powerful way in my life! Happy Birthday and much love!

Nancy, I can remember the first time I heard you speak at a conference in 1999; your messages were delivered in such a winsome way. The Lord used you then to challenge my heart in several significant areas during that season of my life. Well who would have thought (except the Lord) that in 2002 I would join the Revive Our Hearts team. Now here we are, many years later with many joys, sorrows, celebrations, and challenges behind us. You still are the “real deal!” You live out in front of me, in such an attractive way, what it looks like to be intentional about your relationship with the Lord and others. You show me almost daily not to resent, resist, or run from the hard things, but rather to embrace the cross which is a pathway to greater spiritual intimacy and fruitfulness. This verse reminds me of you: “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day” (Prov. 4:18). As you celebrate another birthday remember . . . you are one day closer to that “full day.” May the Lord keep you faithful all the way to the finish line. I love being on God’s team with you!  Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Nancy. I hope you have a moment or two to pause on your special day to reflect on your life and ministry. A little reflection is a luxury these days but will be a blessing to you none the less. These are great days for ROH and I trust you are encouraged and excited about what lies ahead for you and for the ministry. As your friends, Paige and I will be praying for you and will try to encourage you in every way we can in the days to come. In my official position with Revive Our Hearts I will work tirelessly to do my part to keep ROH moving forward. We both need the Lord for what we do. May He be pleased to take us with Him. Again Blessings on your birthday.

Precious Nancy, I am so grateful for this ministry and the potential God has to change our world through the True Woman Movement. One of the main things I appreciate is the major role you have played in putting the truth of God’s Word into my heart rather than the things of this world. I'll never forget the summer many years ago when I took your book Lies Women Believe on vacation with me. It forever changed my thinking and my life. I am so grateful that God used you to influence my spiritual journey. This book has influenced my sisters also and I will be forever grateful for this truth in their lives. I love all the resources at ROH and the way they seem to be released in providential timing for our specific needs. God is truly amazing and He is using you and your devotion to Him to develop the movement.

On a personal note, I remember sitting on bleachers watching some sport, talking with you about how important it was for parents to be involved in the lives of their children. It occurred to me later that you had adopted these families and children from your realm of influence to be an encouragement to them. This experience prompted me to be more outgoing with my children’s friends. Tom and I started to invite them into our family activities especially if they did not have a close family situation of their own. We eventually took two of them on vacation with us one year (their senior year spring break) and one of these young men gave his life to Christ.

Another time I vividly remember was a conversation we had with our children after the open house celebrating your move into your home. I do not remember the year but I do remember that our children who went with us argued with me that “Miss Nancy had many children because they had so many toys to play with.” When I took time to explain that all those toys were in your home for their enjoyment they were speechless. This is just one example of how your love and outpouring into the lives of those you care so deeply about has made a huge impact.

In our culture where there are a lot of "gray areas" for many people when it comes to what is true, I appreciate your black-and-white convictions all based on the Word of God. It seems the LORD always gives you a practical and sometimes personal application that impacts my heart. I appreciate how you have been supportive of our local ministries like the Pregnancy Care Center.
I am grateful for the deep thinking mind and unrelenting passion our LORD has given to you and I will be praying for HIS direction for you and this entire ministry in the years to come, if He terries.  Love you MORE.

  3. Nancy,

As you have done for thousands of other women around the world, you have spoken God's unchanging Truth into my life for the past several years. How grateful I am for your faithful obedience to and great love for our Lord Jesus!

It is obvious God has raised up Revive Our Hearts for "such a time as this." It has become a voice crying in the wilderness, and that call has given me and my family new life and freedom as He has transformed this wife and mother!

May God richly bless you as you celebrate another year of life here and 10 years being the face of such a desperately needed countercultural revolution. Please know that we are changed because of what God has chosen to do through this ministry.

  10. I am grateful for your ministry through Revive Our Hearts. I found your program when my youngest was 3 years old. I had just moved to a new state and our church was an hour away from our home. I can remember being glued to the radio to hear your broadcast and remember thinking, "Wow, she really understands and encourages women who stay home and nurture their children!" It was like a cold drink of water in the hot, dry desert to my soul. My deep down convictions were supported by you and it was such a relief and a source of strength to hold onto each lesson I would hear on your program.

I am older now... but must say, I still get the greatest encouragement from your ministry when it comes to women, their families and their important place in the home. It's sad to say that more churches don't fully embrace full biblical truths. It's encouraging to say, you are still there as a beacon for women everywhere, showing us there is light, there is a true path to follow, that following Him is worth everything!

    Happy Birthday To You

  11. Dear Nancy,
Thank you so much for your example of godliness and for gently and graciously reminding us all of the exquisite value of belonging to our precious Savior, Jesus. The Holy Spirit has used your books and ministry to help shape my thinking and become the woman I am today. Attending the True Woman '08 conference in Chicago was particularly transformational. I think I cried through the whole thing! But God used it to prepare me for a season of suffering and brokenness unlike any I had ever faced. Through the trials, the Lord kept bringing back the truth and convictions He wrote into my heart that weekend. Looking back 3 years later from a place of immeasurably more joy, I am nothing but grateful. Thank you so much for your faithfulness! May God bless you with many, many more years of fruitful ministry and service. Happy Birthday!!

  16. Dear Nancy,
You are a chosen vessel. God has given you great gifts as a teacher - eloquence, and excellence in explaining His Word to others with great clarity.
May the Lord bless and keep you. I loved when Paula recently spoke of your "courageous example" as a single woman. You are experiencing the ultimate joy: as David Wilkerson put it, "There is nothing of the flesh that will give you joy. I don't care how much money, I don't care what kind of new house...there is nothing physical that can give you joy. True joy comes only through what is accomplished by the Holy Spirit when you obey Him and take on His heart."
May you be encouraged! I read this verse this morning in 2 Timothy 4:1, "...the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom." Just imagine when His glory will be revealed! Then we will "be glad also with exceeding joy"! (1 Peter 4:13)

While browsing through the resource table during a break between Family Life's "Weekend to Remember" (for couples), I spotted your book, Lies Women Believe, and purchased it. I employ high school and college age young women, and my heart goes out to them when I learn what a mess their personal lives are. Previously I mostly offered a compassionate listening ear to them, but your book is a tremendous tool, alongside the Holy Bible, in responding to them.

  23. Cannot even begin to express my thankfulness to God for you and your surrendered life for His Kingdom...I know you won't like this but this is a great time for people to encourage you for a change :-) Life Action came into our little town in Pavilion, New York back in the mid '80's and shortly after that I came out to Niles for one of your ladies retreats (Abraham, a Friend of God)...God has used you to change my life and teach me valuable principals I have to use everyday as a woman, a wife, a mom, grandmom now and a pastor's wife. It's thrilling to be able to share these life-changing (or should I say heart/attitude changing? :-) truths and watch the Word change lives. Our ladies have enjoyed and been challenged by your studies (Lies was a powerful one) and conferences (True Woman in Indy last fall was phenomenal)...and my fave books which have definitely been used of God to transform my life are your 'Choosing' books (Gratitude and Forgiveness)...cannot even begin to tell you how many of those I have given away :-) I believe they are Must Reads for every Christian. I could go on...I won't...but all of this to say I wish a very special gal, whom I sure is a kindred spirit though I've never gotten to formally meet, a very wonder-full birthday...praying God shows you extra special delights on your special day! (You aren't jumping out of a plane or something are you?...I will pray for safety also just in case :-) So many of us feel we know you...and we love you! Keep on spreading His Word and love Nancy!

Psalm 112 comes to mind today to send you as a blessing. May these promises continue to be true for you, for your loved ones, and for those you mentor, Nancy!

Though I have never met you in person, I think you know how much I love you and appreciate you, your team and your ministry. You all have truly been as pleasant waters in a parched land to my life, and have so faithfully and consistently ministered Christ to me. I love you all dearly.

I rejoice with you today for 10 years in ministry, as well as another birthday for our dearest Nancy. Nancy, thank you heartily for all the work you do; all the hours of labor; the tears; the fastings; the soul-searching; it has born fruit, and I have tasted of that fruit and benefited from it so much.

Many blessings and much love to you today, Nancy; may the Lord mightily bless, strengthen, enable and keep you and the team for many years to come, according to His good pleasure and plan; may He keep you safe from all evil.

Even though we have only met briefly at one of you conferences, I joke with my friends that we are BFFs! I guess it's a bit one-sided, since you don't know me, but I feel like I know you since you so graciously open your heart to us, your readers and listeners.

As I was reading this month's newsletter with the ROH timeline, I realized I've been with you every step of the way and I praise the Lord for the influence you've had in my life.

As a single 30-year-old, I so appreciate your words and encouragement to singles. The way your ministry reaches out to women in ALL stages of life is rare and one of the reasons I turn to your books, website and other resources often for myself and my friends.

I wish I could take you out for a piece of birthday cake and celebrate with you like I would all my other friends, but since that's not possible, let me just say, "Happy birthday, friend...may the Lord grant you many more happy years!"

  31. Nancy, I wish you a happy birthday, and congratulate you on 10 years of effective radio ministry. As I read your journal entries about how God directed your life to begin Revive Our Hearts, I was reminded of some of my favorite verses ~ scriptures you introduced me to several years ago ~ "Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." (Ps. 25:4-5)

You have inspired me to seek God's ways, cling to His truth, and speak that truth to my soul. As your life illustrates time and time again, the woman who seeks God first will enjoy an exciting adventure in ministry for Him.

I am amazed and grateful that God called me to work for you 10 years ago. What a delight and honor to sit at my desk in California and know that things I do are part of a far-reaching ministry that influences the minds and hearts of women and counts for the Kingdom. You have encouraged me and women everywhere in God's good design for women, and your life example shows us what a beautiful design that is. God bless, protect, and encourage you in the days to come.

  38. Happy Birthday Nancy! I hope you have a beautiful day and may God bless you with many more years! Thank you for all your work, dedication, and love for Revive Our Hearts. When I have questions that I need a Biblical and truthful answer for, I many times go to your website and search for that topic. I love how real you and all your bloggers are. They make me see myself for who I am and really confront my own life and sins.
May God continue to give you the strength, grace, and wisdom to continue to do your work (as unto the Lord).

  42. Happy Birthday Nancy! Your books and radio ministry began blessing me years ago. But, perhaps what I am most thankful for is your encouragement to those of us who lead and minister to women in the local church. You have been a forerunner in calling us to glorify Christ as women. You have been God's strengthening tool for those of us who desire to lead Biblically, helping those we serve understand God's unique design and purpose for them as women. May God richly bless you as you celebrate both a birthday and 10 fruitful years of ministry.

  48. Happy Birthday, Nancy! I look forward to meeting you in heaven where I will be able to adequately express the blessing the Lord has allowed you to be in my life. The Lord took my mother home to heaven when I was three, and He has used you to teach me things from God's Word to pass on to the beautiful daughters God has blessed us with. Thank you for giving us a legacy to pass on of brokenness, surrender, and holiness to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! To God be the glory; great things He hath done! We love you, our precious sister in Christ, Nancy. God bless you, our beloved teacher and example of Christ's love!

  52. My beloved Nancy,

Our sovereign God showed me His mercies for foreigners when I first moved to this precious land in 2004 and turned on the radio and listened for the first time to ROH. Who was this lady with such a sweet, calming and soothing voice that was speaking the Truth with so much passion and conviction? " Oh, I have to tell my church!!"

It was the worst of times, but because of your teaching it became the best of times, for now I would not be alone or lacking encouragement, now I had you to cheer me to run the race with my eyes set on Jesus, the Author and Consumator of my faith.

During the hardest and loneliest times, I turned to my kitchen radio, and heard the only voice that reminded me that He is worthy and He loves me even when my faith is trembling and those I trusted failed me. You were always there for our daily appointment with loving words of forgiveness and second chances.

You taught me His love for me in Christ alone, not based on my performance, what a great relief! Thank you, Nancy, then I became free of guilt .

True Woman '08 gave me and my daughter the privilege of meeting you, and being able to see how authentic you are, how loving to the weak, the hurting, the needy and your compassion marked my heart. I saw a woman that lives and breathes Christ's words and has influenced your team of coworkers to a godly life. All the men and women that I met while I was interpreting every conference of True Woman showed so much passion and commitment to ROH and spreading the message of true womanhood, freedom and joy in Him. You and your godly team really want women to grow and enjoy God's design for women and to be used by Him in mighty ways.

I pray for you every morning when I wake up, before closing my eyes at night, thanking Him for giving me a sister that shows me the way to honor Him and reminds me He loves me for what I am.

Thank you Nancy, and please remember that you are being prayed for by so many women like me, that find comfort and hope everyday in their kitchen, desk or car, here, in the Dominican Republic, Latin America, or the Middle East.

May He bless you and use you even more "in such a time as this",

    My deepest gratitude,

  53. Nancy,
You are a dear friend and mentor to me. When I prayed for a Titus 2 older woman to speak wisdom into my life the Lord kept leading me back to your radio broadcast. You have made a profound impact upon my life the past few years. I attended two True Woman events last year (Dallas and Chattanooga). I believe in the message you are teaching. It is a much needed message today and so refreshing to my soul. May the Lord bless you abundantly. Thank you for standing for the enduring truth of God's Word.

  54. Dear Nancy,
You have been such an encouragement & blessing to me over the past 3 years. I started listening to your program soon after moving back to my home state of Arkansas. I was also able to attend 2 of your live radio programs. I knew the move would bring change but never realized just how much. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer two weeks after my husband & I arrived. My husband was also involved in planting a church in the area & we were living out of our dear friends' home.
The Lord used this time to grow my faith & trust in Him. Your teaching really helped me to focus on the Lord when everything else seems uncertain. Thank you so much for your dedication to sharing God's Word accurately! I'm very thankful for your godly example.
Reminds me of Psalm 145:4, "One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts."
    Happy Birthday!

  56. Happy Birthday, dear Nancy!

May His joy and peace be yours in abundance, and may you continue to be the instrument of His grace in so many lives.

Thank you, dear Nancy, for being obedient to God's calling on your life. Thank you for the impact you have had on me personally. I have learned much from you. One of the things I most appreciate about you is your transparency when sharing with others about the work God is doing in your own heart in areas where you feel work needs to be done. That takes humility, and I so appreciate that because it gives the rest of us hope!

You have two statements that have stuck with me and I think about them often. One is "Anything that makes me need God is a blessing." The other statement is we have to "counsel our hearts with the truth of God's Word." Those statements are so important, and they are ingrained in my brain!

God bless you richly, dear Nancy. You are loved! May God continue to pour out "fresh oil" as you serve Him!

    In Him,
    Arlene

  62. Dear Nancy,

Happy birthday to a woman who is a true sister in Christ to other women. Though I have enjoyed speaking with you in person a couple of times, I don't know you very well, Nancy, and yet I feel as if the greatest friend a gal can have is another woman who simply points her to Christ with her life, God's Word, and timely encouragement. You have done that immeasurably. THese are all things you do for those of us who come to ROH daily. You also introduce us to other friends of yours and show us how to find our true identity in Christ.

You blessed me so much when you called me in the hospital! My mother's name is Nancy, so when I heard my husband say your name I misunderstood and called you 'Mom'. Funny at the time, but not too far off. You have many, many daughters, sisters, and mothers around the world who share your Heavenly Father and who appreciate your single devotion to Jesus. I so appreciate your heart for women, your bravery in telling the truth of God's Word to us, and most of all: the way Christ radiates from your face and voice when you speak of him.

I hope your birthday was wonderful. I have moved to the ATL area and tell women about ROH all the time! You and all the other ladies who work with you have been more of an encouragement to me than you could guess. You have taught me things from Scripture before I knew that I needed to know them and given me an incredible resource to share with other women. God bless you for caring so much about the daughters of Sarah.

    Every Blessing in Christ,

  63. Happy late birthday Nancy,
You are a beautiful example of a Titus 2 woman and a Proverbs 31 woman. Thank for your ministry in my life and my children. I like to have your broadcast on when I am fixing supper, but the computer sits just far enough away to have to turn it up LOUD! It was funny one day when our 20 year old son made reference to something you said...I laughed, because he was in his room, but heard everything. So now I always ask him if it is loud enough for him to hear! So funny! Last week I had on one of the first programs that you did with Elizabeth Elliott and as I was making cookies with our 11 year old daughter Lauren she said to me. "Mama, when I get older, I want to be like you and be a women's ministry leader or a missionary." THANK YOU LORD and Nancy, then she asked about the 2012 True Woman conference and I told her...I think I can take you. She was thrilled. LORD willing both of our girls can come with me.

May our GOD continue to bless, protect, provide, comfort, sustain and encourage you each day.
