Facebook Friends Prepare for True Woman ’12

Posted on 07.18.12 by Heather Patenaude

By the way, for those of you who have been looking for it, The Gospel Coalition National Women’s Conference video and audio are now available.

True Woman Attendees

In just over nine weeks, I’ll be attending my third True Woman Conference, and I am thrilled that about thirty ladies will be coming with me!

When we assembled our group, we created a private Facebook group to connect and get to know each other, as some of the ladies go to different area churches. We then decided to study True Woman 101: Divine Design together before the conference. As we’ve learned more about biblical womanhood, I’ve witnessed the hearts of these women being prepared for what is to come at True Woman '12.

Some of the women feel as if, for the first time, the veil is being lifted and they are seeing the pull of culture in a new way. One friend wrote:

“I can't get over how God is changing my heart. I see and hear things differently (and it feels like it happened overnight). I want to explain or share things with friends, but when the time comes I don’t have the words. Lots and lots of emotion, but no words.”

My heart has been so encouraged to watch these women praying for each other, preparing for the conference, and sharing what God is doing in their lives. We are having a True Woman Girls Night Out in August to deepen our bond (plus, it gives a chance for some of those who don’t yet know each other to meet).

How are you preparing to meet with God at True Woman '12? If you’re not already, may I encourage you to connect with other ladies who are going, too? I think that going through the True Woman Manifesto, True Woman 101, or Seeking Him could all be ways to soften your heart to what God wants to do in Indianapolis this September. Really, the options are endless. Be as creative as you like.

And Lord willing, I’ll see you there!

  1. I'm so excited to be attending my first True Woman Conference with my mother! I have not connected with other women (besides my mother) because I know of no other women who have the same values/beliefs I do. My prayer is that I meet other Godly True Women from my area so I can be less lonely! Looking forward to meeting some in September.

  3. Cindy,

In 2008 my mom and I went and I didn't know any other women. Oh the sisterhood of True Woman conferences! You will find like minded sisters and be blessed!

And yes, I know that loneliness! Praying for you to connect with women in your area at TW12!

(Are you on the True Woman Movement FB page? Check to see if there's any in your area there!)

    Blessings!

  4. I am FINALLY going to a True Woman conference. I have wanted to go since the first one four years ago, but our finances just never allowed for it. We are a single income family in NJ and my husband is a laborer so saying money is tight is an understatement. LOL But, about 2 weeks ago, a friend that we had loaned money to several years ago FINALLY paid us back. It was a substantial amount of money and, praise God, was enough to pay for a hotel room, food, and the gas to get to IN from here. Thank you Lord! I am so excited to go. I am currently going through True Woman 101 and am loving it. I have also done Seeking Him. I did that one when it first came out. I have done Lies Women Believe twice. I am currently listening to the CDs on the True Woman Manifesto. I am so encouraged by this movement. I pray daily that God will be with the speakers at the conference, that they will have the words He wants them to speak. And I am praying for the attendees that we will have ears to hear and open hearts. Can't wait to see y'all there! De Herr Sie Mit Du! The Lord be with you!
