True Woman ’12 Speakers Anticipate . . .

Posted on 08.31.12 by Paula Hendricks | Twitter: @PaulaWrites678

Have you heard? Just one more week to save $20 on True Woman ’12. Register by September 6 to take advantage of this price break!

TW12 SpeakersDo you want to hear how a few of the True Woman ’12 speakers are gearing up for the conference next month? If so, read on. And if you’re coming to True Woman ’12, I’d love to know how you’d answer these questions.

What are you most looking forward to at True Woman ’12?

“The teen track! No offense to you non-teens, but the girls who attend our teen track are the sweetest part of True Woman. We have a lot of fun together; but we also open the Word and mine for gold. When I think of those bright shining faces and their hunger to know God better and love Him more, my heart goes pitter-patter. Come on September!” –Erin Davis

“Being with the girls.” –Mary Kassian

“I believe True Woman '12 could prove to be a historic gathering . . . a decisive moment in time when we look back and realize God visited His people!” –Nancy Leigh DeMoss

What will your family do while you’re at True Woman ’12?

“My husband will be with me, and depending upon the children's school schedule, they will probably be, as well! We all love to travel together as much as possible.” –Priscilla Shirer

“While I am at True Woman ’12, Ken will be wading the Madison River in Montana with his fly-fishing buddies–casting for trout during the day and discussing God's Word in the evenings. May God bless my husband with big, fat fish :-).” –Joni Eareckson Tada

“Trying to talk restaurants into delivering outside of their deliver area (we live in the country) so they don't eat only pizza and Chinese food while I am gone.” –Dannah Gresh

When you pray about True Woman ’12, what do you ask God for?

“A powerful move of His Holy Spirit in the hearts of women that will spark the flames of revival in our homes, churches, and communities.” –Mary Kassian

“Refreshed understanding of our design and mission as women, revived lives that reflect Christ’s beauty and heart, renewed passion for passing God’s truth on to the next generation, and revival—for God to pour out His Spirit on us and our land!” –Nancy Leigh DeMoss

How many True Woman Conferences will this be for you?

“This will be the third time I've spoken at a True Woman Conference, but the first time I've done so in person. The other two messages I gave via video—the first after I broke my leg; the second, after dealing with chronic pain and pneumonia. So I'm really praying nothing happens between now and True Woman ’12!” –Joni Eareckson Tada

“This will be my fifth. These conferences were birthed out of a burden for authentic, Christ-centered awakening and revival, and I wouldn’t dream of missing one!” –Nancy Leigh DeMoss

What will you be sure to pack in your suitcase?

“Ken and I are reading together through the Bible chronologically this year, and sometimes when I've traveled, I've forgotten to bring the reading schedule. So don't forget the reading plan, Joni! (It would be pretty embarrassing to phone my husband all the way up in Montana: ‘Hon, what am I supposed to read tonight?’)” –Joni Eareckson Tada

“I won't forget flat shoes! While I rarely speak in them, I always enjoy finding a bit of reprieve in them once I'm off of the platform.” –Priscilla Shirer

“Hope I remember the ear plugs . . . those True Woman Sisterhood pajama parties in the hotel rooms sometimes last into the wee hours of the morning.” –Mary Kassian

  1. I'm looking most forward to seeing in person all the great women I hear on ROH, especially Nancy since I listen to her every day and feel like I know her! My husband and son are actually coming with me to Indy and will be doing "guy stuff" while I'm at the conference. I'm praying that this conference will be a catalyst for revival in the lives of each woman that will be there. This will be my first TW conference and I couldn't be more excited. As for what I'm packing in my suitcase...probably going to be packing some comfy shoes! I'm attending the conference by myself since I couldn't get a group of gals to come with me, but I'm sure I won't be alone with all those True Women around :-)

  2. This is my third TW conference and I can't wait to come with my two oldest teenage daughters! Since '08 I've seen massive changes in the lives of women around me who've begun embracing the Truth of God's Word in regards to their womanhood, and this time of gathering on a grand scale - seeking the Lord together - makes my heart beat with anticipation!

May God continue to radically change us and reflect Himself! May none of us come away from this unaffected!

  3. This is my second conference. I am bringing my bible and a bunch of ladies that I can say that I truly hold dear to my heart. Nothing like showing up at True women and hearing the Word of God taught to us (nothing more wonderful than to hear thousands of women flipping the pages of God's word). As for my hubby. Bless his heart, he will be packing as we move into a new house on Oct 1st. I love you honey, you are my hero!

  5. This will be my second conference. I was at the 2008 conference with some dear sisters in Christ. One of them was planning on being with us in September but she recently has gone to be with the Lord. Missing her but celebrating that she is with the Lord!

  6. I'm super excited about attending my second True Woman Conference! I am really looking forward to spending some "girl time" with my mom who is attending with me, and like a previous poster said seeing in person all the people I've listened to on the radio, read about in their books, etc. Sometimes you feel like you know them just a little - ha ha...from listening to the the podcast all the time! I also love the environment - just being surrounded by women who all love the Lord is wonderful!

I am SO thankful that my dad and step-mom are coming to help my husband with the kids while I'm gone. This way he will not have to miss work and won't have to manage all the in's and out's of childcare by himself while I'm gone....which should make for a happier husband when I get home. He is a great dad but I know he would likely get overwhelmed if he had to do it all by himself. I'm also praying my daughter who I'm in the process of weaning will be okay during my absence.

I'm praying that I will be able to hear what God has to say to me and that I will come away changed! I also pray that those who are on the fence about attending or who are trying to arrange for childcare will be able to do so.

As for packing, I learned from the last conference to bring an extra bag for all the books I will buy! Could barely close my suitcase last time, and my carryon was unbearably heavy with the weight of all the books! ha ha

I am looking forward to the mighty outpouring of God's Holy Spirit filling the convention hall and moving and changing womens hearts forever, the overwhelming sense of being part of the global body of Christ, and the joy of worshipping my King with thousands of His beautiful daughters lifting the roof in praise!

  9. This will be my third True Woman conference, and I will be attending on my own from Texas. I am looking forward to the time to spend with the Lord, hear large doses of His Word, and sing His praises. I am looking forward to being still and quiet as I take a break from the demands of raising and homeschooling five children. :)
I am also thrilled to get to serve on the volunteer team for the first time. My ministry usually always centers within my home, but this is an opportunity to minister in another realm for a few days. I know I will meet many like minded sisters in the process. I am counting down the days!

  12. Oh my, I am so excited to be attending my very first "true woman" conference. I live in the pacific northwest so I figured I would never get to attend. I mentioned to my husband that I would love to go as a birthday present. (aug. 29th was my 52nd b-day). I was blown away when he presented me with a round trip ticket, 3 nights booked in a motel and he even registered me for the conference. SWEET! I have wrestled with my position in life for the past 2 years after my last child left for college. I long to feel valued as a woman the way I did when I was a mom. I have listened to many of the speakers on Christian radio and read many of their books.....so to be able to attend this conference and be amongst Christian women; I am looking forward to growth and challenge. I do not have transportation from the airport so if this is the right place to communicate that fact I hope for a ride and some new friends. I look forward to God's work in my life.

  13. Happy belated birthday, Lorrie! What a great gift and a sweet husband.

Here are some travel options for you:

    1. The easiest option would be to catch a cab from the airport to your hotel.

    2. Check out
    http://www.icclos.com/attendees/getting-around-transportation.aspx
for info on the green line that runs from the airport to the downtown area.

    3. You can leave a message on our Google group asking other women for a ride:

Praying God meets you at this conference and encourages you in this newer season of life,
