Emily’s Story: “It Took Control Like a Horrible Monster”

At the beginning of this month, we asked you to share a story of what God has done in your life in the past year. Each Monday between now and the end of the year, we’d like to share some of those stories with you on the blog. Starting with a young woman named Emily.

Growing up, Emily looked like a good Christian girl. But as a senior in high school, she began to wonder if sin might really be as fun as it looked. It wasn’t long before Emily was living out a tragedy:
“The police brought me to the psych ward twice. The first time I had cut my arm open. The second time I had taken a bottle of Ibuprofen . . .

“Very quickly drug abuse took control like a horrible monster . . .

“The police showed up at our door. They arrested my husband.”
A little over a year ago, God brought Emily’s story to a turning point:
“Instantly my heart was changed . . .

“I felt calmer . . .

“I was hearing pure truth . . .

“I aspire to be a strong woman of the Word.”
How can a story take such a dramatic turn? Watch Emily’s video to find out. (And be sure to visit ReviveOurHearts.com/Stories each day for the rest of the year to hear a new story.)
