Jesus doesn’t look to rub shoulders with the high and mighty, doesn’t seek to gain popularity among the rich and famous, and doesn’t care about his approval rating among the American Idol crowd. He watches for the needy and bends low to pick up the humble child who reaches for Him.
I just have to do one more post about what God did at the True Woman Conference in Indianapolis. You don't mind, do you? . . . Because God deserves some serious celebration after His answers to countless prayers!
I often told people that I was destined to do great things. I assumed that meant being exceptional at my job, and I secretly suspected that I would soon be filthy rich.

Good morning! I prayed for you this morning from Psalm 86—that Your God who is forgiving and good and abounding in love for you would guard your life, bring joy to you on this Saturday, and would give you an undivided heart that you might fear His name.
Bob Lepine courageously went “where angels fear to tread” as he talked to a room full of women this afternoon about the three areas he believes can easily take on an unhealthy, idolatrous nature: food, beauty, and control.

At 9 a.m., a few of us from the Revive Our Hearts team
met in room 309 of the Westin. Over breakfast, we gave our friends from
the Dominican Republic the go-ahead to begin translating and airing Nancy’s radio program in
Santo Domingo, making it our inaugural start in Spanish broadcasting!

Worry eats at us. It mires our hearts in apprehension and fear. It saps
our strength and drains our peace. And that worry tempts us to believe
the myth that an uncertain financial future is an unbearable state of
affairs.
I was feeling a little under the weather the other day, so my sweet husband decided to take my boys out for breakfast to give me a break. When the hostess asked how many to seat and my husband replied “just the three of us,” she bent in close and whispered, “Did momma leave?”
I was a little nervous at the outset about how well I would be able to connect with a group of 20-somethings who are in such a different season of life than I am. But those apprehensions quickly dissipated and I found myself being greatly encouraged by the eagerness, hunger, and openness of these gals.
A lack of commitment is normal in our society. It's like it’s even expected. Think of how often you hear “no commitment necessary.” Whether it’s a gym membership or an email subscription service, I know that I usually want to know what the terms are for getting out of what I have just signed up for!
What an awesome thought! Uniting my heart with the Almighty. Being one
with Him through abiding in Him. Having my will united with His in
truth. Being one in desire, purpose, intention, mind, motive, heart, and
spirit . . . in order to pray effectively.

I’m thankful for the way God uses women who are gifted authors and speakers to motivate, inspire, and encourage, but I am equally grateful for those who serve in the nameless trenches of life–where only God and a few others glimpse their faithfulness.
