True Woman Videos: Marriage, An Exhilarating Picture of the Gospel

Posted on 01.01.10 by Paula Hendricks
Topics: Marriage

Pastor Ligon Duncan says when we learn to revel in the counter-cultural truths of Scripture of how men and women are to relate to each other, we suddenly find that far from being stifling, they’re liberating!

How about you? Has the Gospel been made more believable and beautiful to you through a marriage you've observed? Do you find God's design exhilarating or stifling? Why is that?

  1. This is the mindset and perspective that every believer needs to hear from their churches and their leaders so that they may be encouraged to set their eyes on Christ and turn their back from the world.

If we didn't see God's design for marriage, for the wife, and for the woman to be one wrought out of wisdom, creativity, intelligence, and love, we will really struggle to live by His will.

This short message/invitation alone was a rebuke and an encouragement.

May your conference be a blessed one. We hope a similar activity can be done here in the Philippines as well.

  2. So truly this Biblical perspective of marriage is paramount for the church to know and observe. I first 'saw' this during a Marriage Without Regrets (Precept study by Kay Arthur) as my husband and I co-led it so the discussions of our study could take place separately for the men and women. It was an eye opening point to recognize the value of our marriage before the church and most importantly the world! To show them how Christ loves the church. . . for me to show how the church loves Christ through my respect and love of my dear husband.

Thank you for furthering the sharing of this truth. May our lives demonstrate it daily in the power of His Spirit.
