True Woman Videos: Truth . . . and where it's found

Topics: Relationship with God

Very few women I know can pack so much truth in a couple minutes! In this video, Janet Parshall expresses concern for women who are being taken as “prisoners of war,” talks about the importance of truth, and explains where exactly to find it in a culture that doesn’t believe it exists.

Do you know this Jesus, who calls Himself the Truth? How is He—along with His Word—impacting the decisions you’re making today?

  1. Janet is so right in that we are to see the world that we live in through the 'glasses' of truth. Even within the church! This is where so many of us are taken captive again, after beginning well we falter because of deceptive teaching. We should take everything that we hear, whether it is in the world or from the pulpit, and wash it through the Word of God. Which is Christ Jesus. This is a clear warning that is in Hebrews 10 as well as Jude, with examples all through the old & the new testaments.
    Thank you Janet for pin pointing where we are to start...The Truth.

  2. Wow, you weren't kidding at ALL Paula!!! How did that darling of a woman pack that much in that minute amount of time?! What an awsome truth! What a thrill that put in my day. It is a rare thing for a person to get such a valuable truth across, so potently, so immediatly, I'm glad you folks captured it on camera. God's word being integral to our make up so that we have; Eyes that see Him, ears that hear Him, and heed his warning call as we go out into this world! I Praise the Saviour His word is Mighty, his message is everlasting, may His name be eterally praised above all Names. Thank you dear warriors for our Lord, Paula and Janet.

  3. Brings to mind Proverbs 2 - The TRUTH IS OUR SHIELD!

    My son, if you receive my words
    and treasure up my commandments with you,
    making your ear attentive to wisdom
    and inclining your heart to understanding;
    yes, if you call out for insight
    and raise your voice for understanding,
    if you seek it like silver
    and search for it as for hidden treasures,
    then you will understand the fear of the LORD
    and find the knowledge of God.
    For the LORD gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
    he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
    he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
    guarding the paths of justice
    and watching over the way of his saints.
    Then you will understand(M) righteousness and justice
    and equity, every good path;
    for wisdom will come into your heart,
    and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
    discretion will watch over you,
    understanding will guard you,
    delivering you from the way of evil...

    Love to all my sisters in Christ!

  4. Dear Laura,

    It's beautiful to keep seeing you share such relevant scriptures, here. How they pertain to what ever is said on the TW blog when you participate, is lovely to witness.

    As I read today, these scriptures spoke to me on the same topic:

    "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

    2 Timothy 3:15

    This can speak to one who's brought up, on and in, the word and (I believe) a new child of Christ who has the hope of 'knowing' the scriptures in what earthly life they have ahead of them. The wisdom of Salvation through faith. This is where the Christian is encouraged to seek wisdom, not in the world. :c) Pair that with a portion from the lovely scripture you shared:

    "When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

    Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

    To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;"

    Proverbs 2:10-12 (KJV)

    And then braid it with:

    "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

    2 Timothy 4:3

    May we flee from itching ears, by guarding our hearts with faithful readings of scripture. We need not go on our own strength for this, but call out to the Father to fortify us with an unquenchable thirst for His word, his wisdom and not our own (seeking not for ourselves).

    I thought these scriptures formed a lovely, strong rope of encouragement, edification (as we are always edified by the scripture) and admonishment!

    Maybe it's saying the same thing in different words, but I found these things encouraging. Hope all are having a lovely, God focused day. :c)

    Peace, love n' blessings,

  5. Thank you, Paula, for sharing this TW video. I really appreciated Janet's comments. What an apt description of women who don't know the truth--"prisoners of war." I was once a prisoner of war, but Jesus, who is the "Way, the Truth, and the Life," (Jn. 14:6) has set me free. His truth has set me free. (Jn. 8:32)

    Nancy Leigh DeMoss is always encouraging her listeners to "counsel our hearts with the truth of God's Word." I like that, especially when my emotions are running amok. The truth of God's word protects me from believing the Enemy's lies about myself or my situation. God's truth also protects my heart from discouragement as I seek to live a counter-cultural life, because what He values and esteems is not valued or esteemed by the world, and it is hard sometimes to be that little salmon swimming upstream! May the upcoming TW conference be used
    mightily of the Lord to impart truth in some woman's heart who is desperately seeking and searching, so that she can be delivered from her bondage into the freedom Christ has for her.

    Jenny, you are loved and appreciated! May all the sisters in Christ here have a blessed weekend and Lord's Day.

  6. Thank you, Jenny, for reminding us of those encouraging Scriptures. May we keep guarding our hearts and minds with the Word until the day we see Him face to face.

  7. Power was out and I couldn't comment before this to say how much I enjoyed reading this blog and the comments above! Thank you all who shared, I was enriched in the Word by you. Pr. 30:5 and Ps. 19:7-14 came to my mind as I read the comments and scriptures. How lovely is the Word of God!

    Glad now I could watch the video too -- thank you, Paula! Janet's words so confirm what my pastor was saying today -- how Christ is our life, and how the Word of God dwelling in us is our safety and our very life (he spoke much from Ps.1)... oh glorious Word of God -- oh glorious Christ!

    Love and blessings to all you dear ones in Christ!
